Today, downtown Greeley is quite recognizable to most residents and is filled with historic buildings. This view of the north side of 9th Street from the mid-1970s shows how much, and how little, downtown has changed. At the end of the block, Woolworth’s is visible, which occupied the building from 1957 to 1978. Today, the building is known for housing the Rio Grande Restaurant. Other current businesses on 9th Street that occupy the buildings shown here include Stuft Burger Bar where Jeweleen Fashion House was located, and Gentry’s, which used to be Stockman’s Inn. What other businesses do you remember on 9th Street?
